Rhinoceros has a plug-in called Grasshopper where you essentially program the surface with parametrics. I stopped using it a couple years ago because I could not create nice quads for games/film. Recently, I was pushed in the right direction by NYC Architect Micheal Pryor of designmorphine.com. The turn around was not too long. I am excited to use Grasshopper3d for future projects!
